This subject explores the evolution of the moving image and its practical applications in an artistic and narrative setting. Students are be required to create a series of moving image works throughout the study period culminating in a team based narrative project. Along the way, students explore a variety of time-based media techniques including image capture and mixing, non-linear video editing and DVD publishing. Students are required to watch and critique a season of moving image texts which explore a variety of cinematic styles and production methodologies, from the avant-garde to contemporary video art, video installation, web video and Australian and International cinema.
