This subject provides an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge by facilitating the connection of the theory and practice of conflict and dispute resolution. It consists of a supervised project undertaken in an area related to dispute resolution or conflict resolution. The project can be undertaken as a Work Integrated Learning project, a service learning project working with a community organisation, or a research based project. Project outcomes include submission of a project report, literature review and/or research essay as negotiated with the Supervisor. In each case students work with a supervisor in deciding upon a topic, planning the project and execution. Quotas apply to this subject and entry is on a competitive merit basis requiring students to submit an application for assessment before permission of the Program Director will be granted.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrated high level cognitive skills in investigation, analysis and synthesis of complex subject related ideas through research or a work related project;
- demonstrated application of technical and communication skills to design, evaluate, implement, analyse and theorise about developments that contribute to professional practice or scholarship in the field of conflict and/or dispute resolution.
