Principles of criminal responsibility; aims of the criminal law; criminal procedure including the classification of offences; jurisdiction; summary proceedings; trial of indictable offences; homicide; causation; partial defences; non fatal offences against the person and related defences.
Learning Outcomes

- introduce the tools of analysis used in criminal law;
- teach the essentials of criminal procedure;
- attain familiarity with the offence of homicide, non fatal offences against the person and related defences.
