This subject is the first of two subjects (the other being GG4012) that in combination constitute the full year Honours subject in the Discipline of Genetics. The subject is a combination of a major research project and assignments.

• to extend the students' understanding of genetics and cell biology by completing assignments;
• to allow students to develop practical skills in genetics and cell biology by undertaking a major research project.
