This subject explores a range of teaching and learning approaches for improving student learning outcomes through subject and course design. These include assessment design, problem-based learning, work integrated learning, reflective practice and resource-based learning in contemporary face-to-face and flexible learning environments. A focus is on student-centred learning in response to changing institutional contexts. Assessment in this subject, as for all subjects in the Graduate Certificate of Education, will be graded as satisfactory or unsatisfactory.
Learning Outcomes
- identify and examine processes and learning frameworks used in the design and development of course content for face-to-face and flexible learning;
- analyse and apply effective educational design, including use of education technologies, within a context of commitment to quality learning experiences and outcomes for learners in tertiary education settings.
