This subject allows students who have not satisfactorily completed ED3488, an opportunity to complete the required preparation for final year professional experience subjects. The subject includes 10 days of professional experience in a designated school setting and 10 hours tutorials to support the development of the required teaching skills and underpinning knowledge. Students will be required to participate in a range of school based activities, including the preparation of lesson plans and a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate competence.
Learning Outcomes
- To develop appropriate skills in lesson planning clearly linked to curriculum documents;
- To develop a repertoire of management skills;
- To improve aspects of teacher presence including voice and movement;
- To develop the use of appropriate repertoires of literacy and numeracy practice;
- to improve in areas listed on individual practicum reports.
