This subject integrates knowledge and skills developed throughout the degree in a practical workplace setting. The subject is suitable for students who are not already employed. Classroom learning links to professional placement that facilitates the development of generic workplace skills and application of course specific knowledge. A discrete and manageable placement project is negotiated between the student, workplace supervisor, and academic supervisor. Professional experience is usually undertaken individually, but there is provision for collaborative tasks where appropriate.
Learning Outcomes
- demonstrate a range of technical and social skills and progressively becoming aware of and involved in the wider implications of management functions;
- appreciate the complexity of formal and informal relationships in the workplace;
- observe the management process in terms of economic, socio-cultural, marketing and human resource aspects and develop and understanding of the relationship between various sectors of the business environment;
