Available to students who meet the criteria for enrolment in DrPH.
In this subject students are expected to spend time working in an area of public health relevant to their Doctor of Public Health thesis. The Doctor of Public Health placement may be in any area of public health relevant to the Doctor of Public Health research. The placement will normally take place in a recognised national, regional or international centre of excellence for the area under study.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire advanced methodologies and knowledge useful for the development of the students Doctor of Public Health thesis;
- gain skills and experience in a work placement environment related to the students area of research.

- The ability to appraise information critically;
- The ability to use independent judgment to synthesise information to make intellectual and/or creative advances;
- The ability to place their research in a broader (preferably international)theoretical, practical and policy context.;
- The ability to conduct their research in an ethical manner.
