Enrolment in this subject is restricted to all students enrolled in the Bachelor of Speech Pathology with Honours.

Students in this subject will make complete the Honours Research Project commenced in the previous year and partially completed in the previous study period. In most cases, the emphasis in this subject (that is, this phase of the Honours Project) will be on completing the data analysis phase, and presenting the research findings both orally and in writing.

Learning Outcomes

• students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to design and undertake research in a systematic and scientific manner, to apply research methods appropriate to the field of study in which the research project is situated, and to implement the procedures necessary to ensure that research is carried out in an ethical manner appropriate to the research area;
• students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to conduct appropriate analysis of the data collected and extract logical conclusions from the research results;
• students will acquire and demonstrate the ability to present details about the research clearly and succinctly in an oral presentation; and to communicate research findings in writing in a coherent and scholarly manner either by a thesis or by research journal articles suitable for publication in an appropriate scientific journal.
