This subject is the first of 2 clinical practice subjects which are designed to set the foundation for learning experiences within health settings. This subject is made up of three 5 week placements in different discipline areas selected from the mandatory placements of Acute Care, Neuro/Rehabilitation, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Rural and Electives. The total of 15 weeks of supervised clinical experience will be conducted in clinical settings in a range of public and private health care facilities throughout Queensland and interstate. Students will be required to engage in self-directed learning through the development of a log book relevant to their clinical experience, to critique their performance in all aspects of service delivery and display the proactive pursuit of professional development which is the cornerstone of a professional career as a Physiotherapist.

    Assessment:three clinical assessments each worth 33.3%; learning plan, demographic data and review of placement - pass/fail (%).
    Special Assessment Requirements:Students must submit Learning Plans, Demographic Data and completed Review of Placement forms for each of the three placements in order to be eligible to pass this subject. Students must pass all clinical assessments in order to pass the subject.
