This subject will equip the learner to apply an extended set of competencies in one of the extension curriculum areas of the ACRRM curriculum as determined by the student's learning plan developed in MD8001. Students will critically reflect on and audit their own practice, review relevant literature and demonstrate the ability to synthesise and apply findings to their own clinical context. The subject comprises a program of clinical placement and study. (The clinical placement may occur in the student's own workplace if they are able to gain experience relevant to the clinical area applicable to the ACRRM curriculum and will require work based assessment.)
Learning Outcomes
- skills in identifying medical problems and developing appropriate strategies for their solution;
- review current literature on a specific subject area and apply findings to own practice;
- ability to critically reflect on own practice in content area applicable to the ACRRM curriculum;
- demonstrate extended ability in working from an evidence base applicable to the ACRRM curriculum.
