Available to postgraduate students enrolled in the GradCertSc, GradDipSc, GradDipResMeth and MAppSc and to undergraduates under special circumstances, subject to approval by Head of School.
Independent study and/or research devoted to a topic not covered in the coursework relevant to the Schools postgraduate program. The subject and assessment will be developed in consultation with, and supervised by, a member of staff of the School of Marine & Tropical Biology, with approval from the Head of School or nominee.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire proficiency in literature evaluation and/or data collection and analysis;
- develop skills in preparing and presenting written technical reports and/or oral presentations;
- develop the practical skills required for carrying out a research project;
- enhance knowledge and understanding of a specified area of biology;
- gain experience in problem-solving and scientific decision-making.
