Derivatives of parametric functions; inverse functions and their derivatives; inverse trigonometric functions; hyperbolic functions; differentials; Newtons method; induction; convergence with simple test criteria; power series; complex numbers; numerical integration; basic integration techniques; separable and linear first order differential equations; second order differential equations with constant coefficients.
Learning Outcomes
- to provide the opportunity for students to consider further elementary mathematical topics. Applications include examples drawn from the chemical, biological and environmental sciences. Computer software is used to assist with associated calculations.
