Business and Industry - Professional Internship is a work-integrated learning subject. It is a full semester capstone subject that integrates work and learning, and is taken in the last semester of an applicable postgraduate masters program. The internship will provide the student with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and to develop their graduate attributes in the context of a professional work environment. The student will spend 20 hours a week at an organisation's location working on tasks relevant to studies, skill level and professional aspirations. Specific work assignments and duties are determined in discussion with the internship sponsor, JCU campus representatives and the student to ensure that appropriate postgraduate standards are maintained and are relevant to the student's study. While there are significant academic assignments to be completed it is expected that the student will demonstrate and provide positive measurable commercial outcomes for the business during their 12 week tenure. The internship is an invaluable opportunity for students to gain credible industry experience needed for future employment in a highly competitive global market.
