Students who have a SA in Senior Japanese are not permitted to enrol in this subject.
This subject is designed for complete beginners. It introduces the syllabary writing system of hiragana as well as the fundamentals of kanji, and starts building elementary conversation skills.
Learning Outcomes
- to equip students with the skills necessary to introduce themselves and exchange greetings; discuss countries of origin, occupations, fields of study and hobby interest; deal with numbers; talk about time; talk about families; order meals and drinks; and read and write simple passages in hiragana.
