Available to all students who have passed IT1001 or who have an equivalent knowledge of Italian.
This subject extends the knowledge gained in IT1001 of the structure and function of the Italian langugae. Students' knowledge of grammar and syntax will be extended, along with a greater awareness of Italian culture through texts.
Learning Outcomes
- to take students to a level of minimum creative proficiency (approximately 1- on the ISLPR scale);
- to write and talk about everyday pursuits and past and future activities;
- to read simple authentic texts;
- to perform tasks such as discussing their health, accommodation, and the cultures of Italian-speaking societies.

Assessment: | end of semester exam (50%); quizzes or tests (10%); assignments (30%); oral (10%). |
Special Assessment Requirements: | Completion of fortnightly homework assignments is a compulsory requirement of the subject. Students must pass the examination in order to pass the subject. |
