The aim of this unit is to enable students to develop research skills and knowledge in developing, designing and conducting a small research study relative to primary health care. Specific objectives are to: learn how to identify a research topic; develop skills in information retrieval and the critical analysis of published material; develop a research protocol that involves the collection, including relevant ethics applications, analysis and interpretation of data; produce a written report that demonstrates evidence of research ability and written communication skills; present the findings to faculty and fellow students (using PowerPoint).
