Available for postgraduate coursework students with appropriate academic standing in the school of Earth and Environmental Sciences. With the guidance of an academic supervisor the student will undertake small research project that is of the scope and size that can be completed in the equivalent of approximately six weeks full time work. Students design the collection of data and analyse, interpret and present the results in a scientific manner. Students will select their topic in consultation with their supervisor.

- to understand theoretical concepts in a range of topics which give background to the research project;
