This subject introduces students to a range of concepts that help us understand the societies and environments in which we live. Lectures put forward a range of academic perspectives that are vital to understanding contemporary social and environmental issues, and practical sessions help students critically investigate the viability of different ideas in different contexts. This subject provides grounding in the skills required for studying at University while at the same time providing important background for students studying planning, geography, environmental science and natural resource management.
