Available only to students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Career Development.
This subject provides students with a working understanding of the Professional Standards for Australian Career Development Practitioners. Students will address key practices required to maintain high quality professional standards including career development theory, the labour market, ethical practice, catering for diversity, and maintaining up-to-date information and resource management.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the ethical standards that guide the work of career development practitioners and be able to apply these to diverse populations;
- become critically aware of the theoretical base that underpins and is used to inform the work of career development practitioners and how it applies to the labour market;
- ability to develop systematic, efficient, effective and up- to-date information and resource management skills for career development;
- ability to address the practices required to maintain professional standards in the work of career development practitioner.

- The acquisition of coherent and disciplined sets of skills, knowledge, values and professional ethics from at least one discipline area;
- The ability to work with people of different gender, age, ethnicity, culture, religion and political persuasion;
