This subject introduces students to the processes and approaches to research in Early Childhood Education. It requires students to critically examine issues of knowledge construction, research methodology and links between research and practice. Topics may include gender, childhood, resilience and multimodal literacies. Students will examine their own practices through an Action Research cycle.
Learning Outcomes
- explore processes and approaches to research in Early Childhood Education;
- critically evaluate issues of knowledge construction, research methods and links between research and practice;
- critically evaluate research on a range of contemporary topics in Early Childhood Education;
- critically reflect on professional practices through an Action Research cycle.
