Core subject for all teacher education students. Limited offering available only to RATEP students. External offering available only to students enrolled in the ECE major.

This subject provides preservice teachers with opportunities to develop skills for the recognition and appropriate inclusion of students with special needs in regular school programs (either early childhood education, primary or secondary). Students with special needs are those who require some form of curriculum and/or environment modification in order to participate in the regular classroom in a meaningful way. Students with special needs include those with gifts and talents, learning or emotional/behavioural difficulties or impairments (intellectual, speech and language, vision, hearing and physical).
