Study of histories, practices and performances of gender in film texts and productions in Australia, NZ, the US and Britain.
Learning Outcomes
- develop an awareness of filmic techniques for transmitting meaning;
- consider whether radically new constitutions of femininity and masculinity on screen are possible;
- develop skills in analysing womens' and mens' screen and production roles with reference to feminist and critical film theory, and while paying due attention to filmic techniques.
