Learning Outcomes
- to acquaint students with basic chemical principles and terminology;
- to give students an appreciation of the central relevance in science of the discipline of chemistry;
- to introduce students to simple laboratory skills in chemistry;
- to prepare students with limited background (or in need of remedial assistance) in the discipline to be able to undertake level 1 chemistry.

- The ability to think critically, to analyse and evaluate claims, evidence and arguments, and to reason and deploy evidence clearly and logically;
