Introduction to the diversity of animal life, investigating invertebrate and vertebrate animals by comparing their form, function and behaviour. Examination of the animals that use specific local habitats such as rainforest, tropical savanna, freshwater streams and marine environments.
Learning Outcomes
- learn practical techniques for studying animals;
- understand how animals cope with various environmental conditions;
- understand the diversity and organisation of the animal kingdom.

Assumed Knowledge: | Students enrolling in this subject should have a good understanding of Chemistry, Mathematics and English to Grade 12 (Queensland) or equivalent. Students without chemistry and mathematics must complete CH1020 and MA1020 in first year. |
