This subject will provide students with an introduction to the growing sector of tourism referred to as MICE (Meetings, Conventions, Incentives and Events). Topics to be included are planning and management of conferences and events, operational aspects of meetings and events, marketing and service quality as applied to MICE, and the role of meetings and events in destination development. Students will be involved in a simulated planning process for a conference or special event.
