BU1904 - Management, People and Organisations

[Offered in 2011 only]

Credit points: 03
Year: 2011
Student Contribution Band: Band 3
Administered by: School of Business

Using a blended perspective of management and organisational behaviour, technical aspects of management are explored together with the more psycho-social, cultural and anthropological dimensions which comprise organisational behaviour. This provides students with an understanding of how people act in modern organisations by exploring the major theories in areas such as: communication, group dynamics, motivation, decision making, leadership, power and politics, and ethics. This introductory subject establishes a sound basis of theoretical and practical knowledge which will be subsequently applied in a number of related subjects and management scenarios.
