Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studied in consecutive teaching periods.
Admission to Honours is available on a full-time or part-time basis to students who have satisfied the requirements of the School regarding the standard of academic achievement necessary to proceed to the Honours degree. This component of Honours involves the second stage of the supervised writing of a 12,000 to 15,000 word thesis on a specific anthropological research project. Students who have completed Part 1 of the thesis project then proceed with Part 2.
Learning Outcomes
- to become familiar with advanced theory and methods in anthropology;
- to design and undertake a research project;
- to develop the writing and presentation skills required to complete a thesis;
- to identify and discuss current trends, issues and debates in anthropology;
- to understand the ethical, disciplinary and practical implications of anthropological research.

- The acquisition of coherent and disciplined sets of skills, knowledge, values and professional ethics from at least one discipline area.
