Students will undertake a 13 week block placement with an accredited social work supervisor. This provides the foundation for further theoretical, empirical and applied study. Placement preparation workshops will be held prior to placement beginning.
Learning Outcomes
- to develop and integrate knowledge and skills in generic social work practice;
- to develop a knowledge of the variety and range of different types of social work practice;
- to develop an understanding of the role of a professional social worker;
- to develop the practice skills of a social worker;
- to promote an understanding of the organisational and political context of social work practice.
