This subject involves the development, execution and reporting of a supervised ecotourism research article or review. It may also be directed towards developing an ecotourism based product. The project may be undertaken using primary or secondary data or by linking to applied industry issues using archival resources and/or assessing current practices. Students work with an individual supervisor who may be any member of the Tourism Program staff. A high level of performance in the subject TO5060 is a necessary prerequisite. Assessment is based on the research article, the review or the ecotourism industry product and a public presentation of the project.
Learning Outcomes
- acquire objective investigative skills to dissect, analyse and appraise an environmental aspect of the tourism industry without bias or favour;
- develop a substantial ecotourism research article or tourism industry based product;
- enhance professional communication skills in the written and verbal presentation of project outcomes.
