The subject will provide students with an advanced introduction to the hospitality services industry and a contemporary overview of essential management topics. Building on fundamental theories of management and leadership, unique contexts and culture of the hospitality industry will be explored. This approach requires a new focus and understanding of traditional management and leadership perspectives. This is the only way to deal effectively with perennial industry-specific issues including seasonality, labour turnover and productivity.
