This subject examines the principles and practices of sports training and rehabilitation and the role that the sport and exercise scientist plays in the rehabilitation process. Topics include factors contributing to sports injury; injury prevention techniques including stretching, taping and massage; sports injuries and the associated management and treatment modalities; designing programs to prevent and rehabilitate sports injuries.
Learning Outcomes
- To develop an understanding of the role of the sport and exercise scientist in sport training and rehabilitation;
- To examine the principles and practices of sport training and rehabilitation with respect to injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
