Available to level 3 science and education students with appropriate physics and mathematics background.

Non-relativistic quantum mechanics - formalism, harmonic oscillator, angular momentum, hydrogen atom, spin, identical particles, time independent and dependent perturbation theory, fine structure of hydrogen, two-electron atoms.

Learning Outcomes

• to understand the theoretical concepts covered in lectures and to solve problems related to these topics;
• to undertake computational work and write reports.
