This subject provides theoretical knowledge associated with the advanced and extended scope of practice provided by Nurse Practitioners. It will examine issues that impact on the professional attributes required for effective practice. Students will explore the features of advanced practice within a nursing paradigm, examine legal and ethical issues pertaining to nurses working in private and interdependent practice, and investigate health polocies and politics relevant to advanced practice. Students will also have the opportunity to refine reflective practice skills to incorporate into their own specialty field of practice.
