Digital storytelling is the development and telling of stories using digital technologies. In this subject students will explore aspects of story development including concept articulation, emotional content, visual and aural themes and relationships, storyboarding, production techniques, sequential composition, editing and outputs. Further investigations will be made as to the place of digital story telling as applicable to educational settings.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the role and scope of digital storytelling;
- demonstrate an understanding of dramatic/thematic principles that underpin successful story development;
- demonstrate an ability to research, dramatise, and organise the sequential composition of materials within a storyboard as a basis for digital storytelling;
- demonstrate confidence and ability in the use of digital technologies to conceive and produce original stories via digital means;
- design a digital storytelling project suitable for educational settings.
