This subject will introduce and develop skills in designing, conducting, interpreting and reporting on assessment protocols within a legal and ethical framework. Both qualitative and quantitative assessment techniques will be explored with an emphasis upon the behavioural and cognitive evaluation of individuals typically referred for This subject will introduce and develop skills in designing, conducting, interpreting and reporting on assessment protocols within a legal and ethical framework. Both qualitative and quantitative assessment techniques will be explored with an emphasis upon the behavioural and cognitive evaluation of individuals typically referred for guidance and counselling. To enable targeted study this subject offers streams in four age points; older adult, younger adult, adolescent, and childhood.
Learning Outcomes
- ability to critically reflect upon ones own assessment practices;
- ability to interpret and then integrate assessment results into an accessible and functional guidance report;
- develop skills in designing and conducting reliable and valid assessment protocols;
- knowledge of the relevant ethical, legal and cultural issues in assessment.
