This subject provides an introduction to econometrics and statistical foundations. Examples from a wide variety of disciplines will be given. The main focus is on the classical linear regression model. Topics include Matrix approach to a single equation linear models and their estimation and hypothesis testing; problems of model specification; multicolinearity, heteroskedasticity and autocorrelation problems and their solutions approaches. Computer programs for regression analysis. Extensive use of SHAZAM and/or Eviews econometric package.
