This subject provides an introduction to the statistical and econometric techniques used in economic analysis and business decision making.

Learning Outcomes

• To develop skills in using estimation and hypothesis testing in regression analysis;
• To develop an understanding of descriptive statistics, theory of probability, sampling theory and distributions, point and interval estimation, hypothesis testing and regression analysis.

• The ability to think critically, to analyse and evaluate claims, evidence and arguments;
• The ability to calculate, produce, interpret and communicate numerical information;
• The ability to use a variety of media and methods to retrieve, analyse, evaluate, organise and present information.
