This subject is a detailed examination of the issues involved in the administration of an enterprise database system including concurrency control, security, backup and recovery, physical storage management, associated data structures, algorithms and related programming tasks, and software development for reporting and data entry.
Learning Outcomes
- understand database system architecture;
- understand essential administrative tasks associated with maintaining an enterprise level database system;
- explain different concurrency control protocols;
- evaluate and compare algorithms and fundamental data structures;
- control and configure physical storage for an enterprise level database system.
