Common interfaces to computer controlled equipment including Parallel interfaces, GPIB, USB, RS232 and Handshaking. Introduction to the physical layer characteristics of local area networks including IEEE 802.x and common industrial control networks, such as Fieldbus and common industrial control software such as Labview. The application of microcontrollers to the design of real-time multiprocessing systems for interfacing to higher level systems.
