Except with the approval of the Head of School/Associate Dean, all subjects in a chain must be studies in consecutive teaching period. Enrolment in SP2 availability requires approval of Faculty Registrar and Economics Honour's coordinator.

Honours projects are individual, supervised analyses or topics pertaining to the School of Business. The thesis will normally be completed and submitted by November and will be of the order of 12,000-15,000 words. A public presentation of the thesis research is part of the assessment.

Learning Outcomes

• provide a focus for students so that they can integrate material from other subjects in one specific setting;
• provide students with the opportunity to develop a substantial piece of work on a topic of special interest to them;
• develop objective research skills to dissect, analyse and appraise one facet pertaining to the School of Business without bias or favour;
• provide, where appropriate, a paper which may be a resource pertaining to the School of Business;
• deepen students understanding of one particular facet pertaining to the School of Business by a concentration on one setting with more sustained attention than is required in essays, practicals etc.

Graduate Qualities

• The ability to think critically, to analyse and evaluate claims, evidence and arguments;
• The ability to adapt knowledge to new situations;
• The ability to learn independently and in a self-directed manner.

BU4069 and allow concurrent for BU4069

Availabilities
As this subject is part of a subject chain, a final standard grade (e.g. P, C) will only be recorded for each subject after successful completion of all parts of the subject chain.
