This subject is designed to integrate knowledge and skills developed throughout the degree in a practical workplace setting. The subject is suitable for students who are not already employed. Classroom learning is linked to a 250 hour professional placement that facilitates the development of generic workplace skills and application of course specific knowledge. A discrete and manageable placement project is negotiated between the student, workplace supervisor, and academic supervisor. Professional experience is usually undertaken individually, but there is provision for collaborative tasks where appropriate. Students may also begin identifying and collecting data for suitable areas of study should they decide to enrol in an honours year.
