This subject will introduce the student to aquaculture in tropical Australia and other tropical regions of the World. It will provide information about the status and methods of production of the major species cultured in this region and about the trends and opportunities for new species culture.

Students enrolling in this subject should have good understanding of level 1 biology, particularly zoology (e.g. ZL1001 or BZ1004). A basic understanding of chemistry and statistics is highly recommended (e.g. CH1001, MA1401).
