This subject will provide students with the opportunity to experience the various roles of clinical exercise physiologists related to neurological/neuromuscular and musculoskeletal conditions and will provide exposure to the roles of other team members in rehabilitation processes, referral and communication pathways and medical record systems. Students will have opportunities to observe and work with other health professionals during the design, implementation and evaluation phases of exercise programs, and to learn about equipment, facilities and program planning used in clinical exercise physiology.
Learning Outcomes
- Students will understand the professional obligations and implications of clinical exercise physiology practice including codes of conduct, ethical responsibilities, mentoring, responsible reporting, legal implications, interpersonal relationships, leadership, client privacy, client consent, confidentiality and referral;
- Students will complete a working portfolio based on their clinical experience;
- Students will develop proficiency in the analysis and conduct of professional practice in clinical exercise physiology.
