This subject aims to allow students to demonstrate a basic level of skill in research in sport and exercise science. The amount of work required is that associated with a 3 unit subject; approximately 120 hours of personal time. A literature review or a report on a completed research project is generally acceptable. If a literature review of a sport and exercise science issue is chosen as the topic, to successfully complete the subject, the manuscript must normally be accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal. If an original research project of a relevant issue is chosen, the student must negotiate supervision by academic staff within the Institute of Sport and exercise Science and obtain approval of research methodology from the Institute's Research Committee and ethics approval from the JCU Ethics Committee before enrolment. Research reports will be sent for independent assessment.
