This subject is the first of two clinical practice subjects which are designed to set the foundation for learning experiences within health settings. This subject is made up of three 5 week placements in different discipline areas selected from the mandatory placements of Acute Care, Neuro/Rehabilitation, Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapy, Rural and Electives. The total of 15 weeks of supervised clinical experience will be conducted in clinical settings in a range of public and private health care facilities throughout Queensland and interstate. Students will be required to engage in self-directed learning through the development of a log book relevant to their clinical experience, to critique their performance in all aspects of service delivery and display the proactive pursuit of professional development which is the cornerstone of a professional career as a Physiotherapist.
Learning Outcomes

- demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to safely and competently plan and perform physiotherapy assessment, intervention and evaluation processes;

- demonstrate exemplary professional conduct in clinical situations, including awareness and adherence to ethical standards and the professional Code of Conduct.
