Available to level 2 engineering students with the appropriate physics background.
Maxwells equations. Wave propagation in homogenous media. Skin effect and lossy media. Reflection and transmission, elementary antenna and array theory. Physical optics, diffraction reflection and interference.

- appreciate the physical basis for the corresponding engineering curriculum;
- be able to solve practical problems associated with the theoretical background;
- be competent with experimental and empirical work and write reports;
- understand a selection of theoretical developments in the topics studied.
