This subject enables students to undertake clinical practice in a selected clinical setting in order to develop their knowledge and skills at the level of the nurse practitioner. Students will practice with the guidance of academic and clinical mentors. In particular, students will develop an understanding of the scope of practice for nurse practitioners, and be able to provide evidence of its development.

    Assessment:assignments (25%); nurse practitioner portfolio-developed through a learning contract with student's academic & clinical mentors. the p/folio is a compilation of learner goals/skills/ competencies & evidential criteria examined to demonstrate expertise at nurse practitioner level; a p/folio is also required for endorsement as nurse practitioner by the qnc. students to provide evidence gathered from clinical activities. students are required to maintain & update their portfolio for the duration of the course (50%); formative evaluation of clinical practice by clinical mentor against anmc nurse practitioner competency standards (25%).
