Students must be employed minimum 0.6FTE in a Perioperative Unit for the duration of this subject

This subject explores the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required by registered nurses when caring for patients during the perioperative stages. Following NS5701, the focus changes to specific speciality areas, and investigates how the Perioperative Nurse adapts to complex and changing circumstances. Students will have the opportunity to choose two elective modules to examine, more closely, their individual areas of interest. Competency-based clinical assessment will occur during the clinical practice component of the subject.
