This subject requires that students analyze, synthesize and apply aesthetics demonstrated and presented by high profile artists working with drawing and new media. The application of new knowledge combines praxis that considers drawing in terms of contemporary issues. Lectures and practical workshops include presentation of investigative and collaborative projects appropriate to New Media and investigation of principles and techniques involving individual and group projects. Exploration into display and presentation online will build on integrating image, line and form with text and sound for new contexts that preference the visual line.
Learning Outcomes
- understand the rigour of practice based research and its application to building new knowledge;
- acquire knowledge of visual art projects produced by contemporary new media visual artists and contemporary application of aesthetics;
- apply experimentation with instances of drawing and new media for portrayal of a concept based project;
- apply issue based topics to new media presentations;
- incorporate collaborative experiences in presenting group drawing installation.
